Scope: The National Endowment for the Humanities
seeks applications for the Preservation and Access
Education and Training announcement to support
the development of knowledge and skills among
professionals responsible for preserving and
establishing access to humanities collections.
Deadline: May 18, 2021.
Funds: $2 million total for up to 12 awards of up to
$350,000.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; nonprot
organizations, and state, local, special district, and
Native American tribal governments.
Areas: NEH said funding supports projects that prepare
the next generation of preservation professionals, as
well as projects that introduce heritage practitioners
to new information and advances in preservation and
access practices.

Humanities Initiatives (NEH)
Scope: The National Endowment for the Humanities
seeks applications for the Humanities Initiatives
announcement to support humanities education through
programs aimed primarily at program and curriculum
development and through professional development
opportunities for K-12 and higher education faculty.
Deadline: May 20, 2021.
Funds: $3 million total for up to 20 awards of up to
$150,000.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities.
Areas: NEH said intensive reading and discussion
programs featuring recognized scholars bring together
small communities of teachers at both the higher
education and K-12 levels to investigate new themes
and innovative approaches to humanities subjects.
Largely residential and held during the summer, these
programs encourage the study of common texts and
other resources, including visits to collections in libraries
and museums, and help faculty integrate what has been
learned back into their classrooms.

National Robotics Initiative 3.0: Innovations

Scope: The National Science Foundation seeks
applications for the National Robotics Initiative 3.0:
Innovations in Integration of Robotics (NRI-3.0)
announcement to support research that promotes
integration of robots to the benet of humans, including
human safety and human independence.
Deadline: The submission window is April 19, 2021,
through May 3, 2021.
Funds: $14.1 million total for up to 30 awards ranging
from $250,000 to $1.5 million.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; and nonprot
organizations.
