Areas: CDC said applications are sought to: implement
standardized surveillance of postpartum women with
a recent live birth or stillbirth on selected maternal
behaviors and experiences that occur prior to, during
and shortly after pregnancy; implement surveillance on
emerging issues related to maternal and child health
that arise during the data-collection cycle, including
post-disaster or emergency surveillance; and ensure
collection of timely, high-quality data for ongoing
monitoring of maternal and infant health to inform

Core Infrastructure Support for Cancer
Epidemiology Cohorts (NCI)
Scope: The National Cancer Institute seeks (U01)
research project cooperative agreement applications
for the Core Infrastructure Support for Cancer
Epidemiology Cohorts (CEC) announcement to support
the maintenance of existing CEC infrastructure and
resource sharing with broader scientic communities.
Deadline: April 7, 2020; Nov. 9, 2020; and April 9, 2021.
Funds: Awards of up to $500,000 for a project period
with a maximum of ve years.

Areas: NCI said specic core functions that can be
supported for the existing cohorts may include but are
not limited to: follow-up (active and passive) of enrolled
participants, efforts to maintain high retention and
encourage study participant engagement, biospecimen
collection and management, support for staff related to
cohort maintenance and operation, additional queries
to participants to supplement existing information, and
preparation and distribution of data and specimens for
broad sharing with other investigators, among others.

Scope: The National Institute on Aging seeks (R24)
resource-related research projects for the Articial
Intelligence and Technology Collaboratories for Aging
Research Coordinating Center (AITCC) announcement
to serve as a hub for the Articial Intelligence and
Technology Collaboratories for Aging (AITC) program
and facilitate and coordinate trans-AITC activities.

Funds: $875,000 in FY2021 for one award.

Areas: NIA said the AITCC will also provide overarching
support and advice to AITCs in the following domains:
setting ethical research standards involving older
Americans and cognitively impaired older Americans
who will be exposed to technology and articial
intelligence methods; providing assistance through the
preparation of background instructions and submission
templates to ensure compliance with laws and Food and
Drug Administration regulations and facilitate approval
of technology and products associated with articial
intelligence; preparing background instructions and
submission templates to assist AITC pilot investigators
with reimbursement of technology through insurers;
assisting pilot recipients with scaling, dissemination
and commercialization of articial intelligence and
technology products derived from AITCs or other NIA-
funded grants; and disseminating AITC scientic and
product advances to the broader lay audience, scientic
community and commercial market.
