I will soon have my 95th birthday. I can't remember when I started painting, but in my house there hang paintings I made in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Sometime in the 1980s, I put my brushes down and didn't pick one up for more than 30 years.
A few years ago, after recovering from a serious illness that ravaged my body and robbed me of much of my memory, I started painting again. When I started back up, I couldn't remember the most basic things, like how to mix paint or how to hold a brush, so I turned to Google to relearn how to make paintings. I started signing my work, "Gerald van Google."
