Classic fairy tales have been passed down through the years, varying somewhat from culture to culture, but generally following the basic plot closely. When the Muppets get through with them, though, a whole new perspective emerges.

Sly twists on old themes are skillfully executed by Jim Henson Productions, and the star turns by old favorites Kermit. Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, and The Great Gonzo are a treat. While "Rumpelstiltskin," "The Emperors New Clothes," "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," and "King Midas" all benefit from the wackily skewed Muppet approach, it is the opening and closing tales that steal the show. Casting the outrageous Miss Piggy as the practical sibling of "The Three Little Pigs" is inspired, especial y when she responds to the Big Bad Wolf's puzzed inquiry as to why she didn't reply with...
