Where were all these Iraq Study Group "experts" in the period leading up to the invasion ("A Higher Power," by Robert Dreyfuss, September)? Given their expertise, could they not have warned the administration of its folly in focusing on Iraq as the linchpin of its Middle East policy? The fact that there are no neoconservative heavyweights in the Iraq Study Group is irrelevant, since they have already defined the parameters and co-opted the choices that future policymakers must wrestle with.
