The Mirrycle bicycle mirror was a worldwide phenomenon for most of the 1980s.

"It fit right on the brake lever," Mirrycle founder Barry Schacht said. "Then they changed the way brake levers were made"--and sales vanished without a trace.

So Schacht rolled with the punches and redesigned his mirror to fit into the end of the handlebars, and launched a new product, the Mountain Mirrycle, in 1990. "That has continued to grow every year," Schacht said.
