This is my last message as president of NDAA. First, thank you for allowing me to serve as your president. It has been an honor and a privilege, something I will remember proudly my entire life.

One of my goals during this past year was to reinvent the summer conference and dramatically increase attendance. With the help and hard work of a lot of people we did it. I would like to extend special thanks to our executive director, Kay, who was instrumental in this process, and to Belinda, our event planner. The result of all the hard work was that the Summit on Prosecution Integrity held in Chicago in July was amazing. If you attended, you know exactly what I mean. Undeniable energy and momentum surrounded the conference. America's state and local prosecutors are back and we have a strong unified voice that is being heard. In Chicago, we formed our message loud and clear, and our new President William Fitzpatrick is ready, willing and able to carry that message forward. If you were not at the summit and did not hear the speech President Fitzpatrick gave, you missed a great statement of what we fight for every day. Well done, President Fitzpatrick. The standing ovation was well deserved. You will be a very strong voice for prosecutors across this country. I am honored to be your friend and a fellow member of NDAA under your leadership. Good luck.

Another great accomplishment for NDAA over the past year was the addition of the Metro Section and the Women Prosecutors Section. Thank you to Mike Freeman and Dan Conley for getting the Metro Section up and running and to Amy Hanley and Jackie Lacey for doing the heavy lifting with the Women Prosecutors Section. Amy received the President's Award because she went above and beyond in creating the Women Prosecutors Section and carrying their message forward. In all my years at NDAA I have never seen the energy and excitement as I have observed behind this section. The sky is the limit and Amy will take us there. The Women Prosecutors Section has come a long way from a conversation I had on the street in Memphis with Amy. The vision of the section 16 months ago advanced rapidly to a...
