Rural Areas (VA)
Scope: The Veterans Affairs Department seeks
applications for the FY2020 Grants for Transportation of
Veterans in Highly Rural Areas announcement.
Deadline: Oct. 31, 2019.
Funds: $500,000 total for awards of up to $50,000.
Eligibility: Veterans service organizations and state
veterans entities.
Areas: VA said funding will support innovative
approaches to transporting veterans in highly rural areas

Family Self-Suciency and Stability Research
Scholars Network (ACF)
Scope: The Health and Human Services Department’s
Administration for Children and Families seeks
applicants to apply for funds to support a social science
researcher (the proposed Principal Investigator) to
become a member of the Family Self-Sufficiency and
Stability Research Network.
Deadline: Oct. 21, 2019.
Funds: $500,000 for up to five awards ranging from
$90,000 to $100,000.
Eligibility: Colleges and universities; for-profit
organizations, including small businesses; nonprofit
organizations; state, local, special district and Native
American tribal governments; independent school
districts; and public housing authorities; among others.
Areas: ACF said activities may include but are not limited
to: identifying and executing research and program
evaluation activities in collaboration with state and
local human services agencies and community-based
organizations to capitalize on the ability of states and
localities to improve family self-sufficiency programming;
pursuing social science research that could directly
inform local, state or federal human services policy to
improve family economic self-sufficiency and stability;
and engaging in dissemination activities to the policy,
research and practitioner communities; among others.

Clearinghouse Program (HRSA)
Scope: The Health Resources and Services
Administration seeks applications for the National
Rural Health Information Clearinghouse Program
announcement to serve as a national clearinghouse for
information on rural health to support access to health
care and improve population health in rural communities.

to Improve Evidence Base for Seasonal and Pandemic
Influenza Prevention and Control announcement to
