Minnesota Chapter TEI hosts 29th Annual President's Seminar.

On April 24-25, 2012, the Minnesota Chapter of TEI hosted its 29th Annual President's Seminar at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This year's seminar drew 529 participants, which broke last year's attendance record of 524. The seminar draws tax professionals from all over the state, as well as from other chapters in the five-state area.

The main attraction of the seminars are the opportunity to network with so many confreres as well as the high quality of the speakers who come from all over the country to present on current legislative matters and technical topics in the international, federal, state, and indirect tax areas. In addition, the planning committee is also successful at getting vendor sponsors for the seminar, many of which are also sponsors at the Institute level of TEI.

This year's seminar featured many great speakers. Mary (Handy) Hevener, a partner in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, presented at the conference for the 26th consecutive year. Ken Kies, Managing Director of the Federal Policy Group, a division of Clark & Wamberg LLC, was another long-time favorite who returned to the conference.
