ROBERTO HADDAD is a Tax Partner with KPMG in Rio de Janeiro. He is responsible for leading the international and mergers & acquisitions tax practice in the Rio de Janeiro office. He is also the national tax leader for private equities, as well as for the energy and oil and gas area within KPMG Brazil. He has over 18 years of experience in tax advisory to domestic and international clients, including complex and sophisticated groups' reorganization, tax planning, tax and labor due diligence, tax structuring for acquisition and sale operation, as well as general tax consulting services. As an international and M&A tax partner, Roberto is responsible for attending international clients starting operations in Brazil, either through organic growth or through acquisition of existing companies, including entry and exit tax strategies. He is also responsible for purchase investigation exercises with focus on tax and labor, vendor due diligences and ongoing tax strategy and advisory for Brazilian and international clients. Roberto is very active as a national and international speaker on Brazilian tax insights. He has been participating in several local and international conferences, as main Brazilian speaker. He also have several publications about tax issues and updates on specialized international magazines, as well as on articles to domestic business magazines and newspapers. Roberto has experience across a variety of industries, including private equities, energy and natural resources, infrastructure, agriculture, food, insurance, financial services, real estate, hotels, pharmaceutical and telecommunications.
