Millions for Mumia.

Philadelphia On April 24, protesters gathered in Philadelphia to demand a stay of execution and a new trial for Mumia Abu-Jamal--a radio journalist and former head of the Association of Black Journalists--who was convicted in the 1981 killing of a Philadelphia police officer and is due to be executed this year. Activists claim his murder trial was flawed.

During his prison term, Abu-Jamal has continued his journalistic work, writing radio commentaries, articles, and books critical of the death penalty and prison conditions.
