Why do some liberals insist on propelling anti-Bush and anti-Iraq War conservatives to god-like status? ("A Conservative for Impeachment," by Brian Gilmore, December issue.) Bruce Fein has been added to this list of conservatives, along with Andrew Sullivan, John Dean, and even the despicable Pat Buchanan. Sure, they should be commended for waking up and speaking out, but they still believe in disastrous policies that benefit the few. These people deserve only mild applause, not lionization.

Has Fein changed his stance on abortion? Does Sullivan still champion social Darwinist policies that hurt the poor? Has Dean's past gone away? Is Buchanan still a racist pig?
