PositionTax Executives Institute

Michael P. Boyle of the Seattle Chapter became the 57th President of Tax Executives Institute at the conclusion of TEI's Annual Meeting of Members in August. The meeting, which was held in La Jolla, California, marked the end of the term for Judith P. Zelisko of the Chicago Chapter, who is Vice President-Tax for Brunswick Corporation.

The Institute's Annual Meeting of Members also saw the installation of other Institute officers and new representatives from TEI's 53 chapters, including a Vice President for TEI's newest region (comprising its European and Asia Chapters). The meeting also presented the opportunity for the Institute to release its financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2004, which reflected revenues totalling more than $5 million, net revenues for the year of more than $700,000, and net assets of more than $5 million.

At the Board of Directors meeting immediately following the annual meeting, Mr. Boyle presented and the Board affirmed, TEI's goals for the year under the theme of "Continuity, Challenge and Change: Enhancing TEI's Effectiveness in 2006." The Institute's objectives include contributing to the ongoing debate on tax reform; expanding the Institute's involvement with non-tax agencies (not only in the United States but throughout the world); sponsoring high-quality, affordable educational programs; enhancing the ability of senior tax executives to network; reviewing TEI's governance structure (especially in light of TEI's expansion to Asia); conducting a membership satisfaction survey; and...
