VI. METHODS OF PROVING COMPENSATORY AND PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARE DIFFERENT IN MARYLAND STATE COURT AND FEDERAL COURT

In federal court, you would need to consider Knussman v. Maryland, 272 F.3d 625 (4th Cir. 2001), on sufficiency of proof for compensatory damages. In federal court, you would need to consider Kolstad v. American Dental Ass'n, 527 U.S. 526 (1999), for punitive damages.
