It is with great pleasure that the Executive Committee of the Real Property Law Section introduces its new RPLS logo and redesigned California Real Property Journal. The Executive Committee decided, after more than three decades, it was time to modernize the ubiquitous red skyline logo and revamp the Journal cover and layout.

The Journal was first published in 1982. Initially, the Journal was more modest and less formal, and after time, took the form we are all familiar with. While the articles printed in the Journal have always been cutting-edge and timely, the Journal layout and design had become dated and tired. The RPLS Executive Committee's goal was to create a cover design and layout as dynamic as the Journal articles, while maintaining the scholarly feel of the Journal. In addition, the Executive Committee wanted the Journal to be visually appealing and easier to read from a design perspective.
