I was reading Music Notes, "Harmonies from Small to Large Nations," by Mark Holston [December 2001], which mentions that the bolero, mambo, and cha-cha are Cuban music, but he forgot to include the merengue. Many people are not aware that merengue is Cuban. Not a single person that I have asked knows this. Will you please write a small article on this? At least Hispanics should know!
