Elliott Kajan, an active CalCPA member since 1976 and a CalCPA Education Foundation course instructor for more than 20 years, died Oct. 17. He was 74.

Kajan earned the Education Foundation Board of Trustees Award for Meritorious Service in 2007 and was an Education Foundation trustees from 2001-07, serving as treasurer in 2004-05.

Before entering private practice, he was a revenue agent with the IRS Examination Division and a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Tax Division, in Washington, D.C., and the Office of the U.S. Attorney, Tax Division, in Los Angeles.
