John W. Pattno, J.

John W. Pattno, 87, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.

John was born April 23, 1929, in Aberdeen, South Dakota, a son of the late John W. and Agnes (Davey) Pattno.

John was a graduate of Aberdeen High School in 1947 and later graduated from Marquette University in 1952. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In 1957, he graduated from the University of Wyoming School of Law and began his law practice in Cheyenne. His distinguished legal career began as a municipal judge from 1959-62, and also served as Laramie County District Attorney from 1962-70. During this period, he married Patricia Norris on April 11, 1959. They were married for 41 years until her death in 2000.

In 1974, he was elected to the Wyoming State Senate and served for one term. John was involved in a number of organizations including serving as a 4-H leader, the Military Affairs Committee, the Laramie County Memorial Executive Committee for five years, the Advisory Board of the Laramie County Community College for 10 years, the Laramie County Bar Association, the Wyoming...
