Twelve months ago, the Chamber reinvented its member relations strategy and 1 hope that for you, our members, it has paid off. With a goal to increase member activity, interaction and engagement, we introduced a variety of new strategies to ensure members were fully using their membership.

In July 2007, a welcome center for our members was created in our downtown Detroit headquarters staffed by our new Member Relations team, to ensure that any members who visited the Detroit Regional Chamber's offices were able to meet with a benefits expert who could help ensure they were maximizing their investment in the Chamber.

Our Member Relations team meets personally with every new member and those who request assistance in utilizing their Chamber membership. This year these members were presented a customized Detroit Regional Chamber Experience Plan that highlights ways their Chamber membership can help them achieve their business goals and objectives. A valuable component of the Chamber Experience Plan is linking members to individuals on the Chamber's staff. For example, the Government Relations learn will help members interested in connecting with other businesses who have the same legislative goals, and the Detroit Regional Economic Partnership staff will help members find office space to expand in. Our Workforce Team can provide members the proper contacts and resources to attract and retain talent. Part of creating the Chamber Experience Plan is also identifying the right volunteer assignments for a member.
