Members express satisfaction with FEI.

Financial Executives International (FEI) must be doing something right: members overwhelmingly said they are are quite satisfied with the organization and their affiliation with it via membership. In a recent FEI membership survey, when asked to rate their overall satisfaction with their membership in FEI, fully 93 percent of the respondents said they were satisfied or somewhat satisfied and 89 percent were satisfied with the value of their membership. In a previous survey, conducted in 2003, 92 percent expressed satisfaction.

The survey, conducted by Opinion Dynimics Corp. between Jan. 31 and Feb. 14, 2006, was emailed to 11,603 members and received a 14.5 percent response rate.

Among other key findings:

* In rating "importance of benefits and service," respondents rated networking and information exchange opportunities with peers at the local-chapter level at 72 percent; receiving information on emerging corporate accounting and finance issues, 66 percent; professional development and other educational opportunities, 56 percent. Tied at 47 percent were: advocacy on behalf of members before Congress, the SEC, FASB, PCAOB and IASB, along with serving as the conscience of the profession and a spokesperson for ethical conduct. Not far behind, at 45 percent, was information available via the FEI website.
