Describe yourself in five words.
Energetic, creative, compassionate, enthusiastic, adventurous.
Why did you become a lawyer?
As a musician and someone who comes from a family of musicians and creative people, I chose to become a lawyer in order to advocate for artists. Too often we see artists exploited or given a bad deal because they had inadequate representation'”or artists see their work infringed by others but feel powerless to do anything about it. My singular goal when deciding to apply to law school was to work with artists to cut down on the frequency and severity of these unfortunate situations.
What's your favorite memory from law school?
I went to law school in New Orleans, so there were a lot of fun experiences. One of my favorites is from 1L: I would hustle to finish my reading by Friday afternoons so that I could spend Friday nights and most of the weekend going to see live music and meet musicians.
Outside of the law, what are your hobbies?
The biggest one is music'”I'm an actively gigging musician (check out my band Half Maxx), and I write and produce music at home. I've also been playing in a wood-bat baseball league on Sundays, which I absolutely love. I also enjoy cooking, yoga, reading, going on bike rides, hiking in the woods, and spending time with family.
