Job Title and Responsibilities

I am the District Attorney in Fairbanks. Alaska. I lead two offices that serve most of Interior and Northern Alaska across the 4th and 2nd Judicial Districts, respectively. We are responsible for nearly all criminal prosecutions within this vast area, which is slightly smaller geographically than the State of Texas.

1 What was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?

I worked at a lumber mill in Portville, NY during the summer of 1999, after my first year of college. It was undoubtedly the most physically demanding job I've had and really helped to teach me the value of hard work first hand.

2 What is your proudest professional moment?

My proudest professional moment--which was also one of the most emotionally taxing--came in 2019. I was part of a two prosecutor team that tried a man accused of the murder of a police officer, for which a jury convicted him.

3 What do you like most about being an NDAA member?

I enjoy collaborating with other members from across the country to make positive impacts on the issues surrounding our profession and public safety in our communities.
