MEET A NDAA MEMBER.

PositionNational District Attorneys Association's Kirsten H. Pabst

1 What was the most unusual or interesting job you've ever had?

During college and law school, I worked for Parks and Rec, doing miscellaneous jobs like teaching art in the park; monitoring the ice-skating pond (I piped-in the Beatles and Bowie by scotch-taping the PA mic to the old cassette player); running the 5K sign-up table; and strictly enforcing the 'No Dogs or Diaperless Babies' in the wading pool rule.

2 What is your proudest professional moment?

I am honored and humbled to serve on NDAA's Board of Directors and can't think of a better way to give back to the organization that does so much for all of us.

3 What do you like most about being an NDAA member?

I am grateful for the opportunities to collaborate with peers on critical and emerging issues facing our profession and our country. The quality training opportunities offered by NDAA are invaluable to my entire staff.

4 What are your hopes for the Prosecution Profession?

It is my dream that taking care of prosecutors, so that they can continue to show up for victims with their whole hearts and protect their communities, becomes so ingrained in our professional culture that we will no longer need to talk about it.

5 What did you want to be when growing up?

A veterinarian. My daughter Emma is a vet, so that box has finally been checked.

6 What do you like to do in your spare time?

Write, paint, bake pies, hike, camp, fish and wrangle horses.

7 Favorite travel spot?

Glacier National Park and any beach.

8 What is the best meal you have ever had?

My mom's mud pie cookies because, chocolate can be a meal. When I left for college, she sent them to me in Velveeta boxes.

9 Any random facts you could share with us?

My best adventure was climbing Mount Rainier with my dad and another father-daughter team from Montana. We tried again with fathers, daughters and granddaughters a few years later but could not summit due to a protracted snow storm.
