Not one of Mazer's strongest stories, but good nonetheless. Told in poetry format, it is a story of a family that has known privilege and now knows near ruin. It's extremely hard for Victory, the narrator, to adjust to the family's downfall. Her highly successful father has lost his job; he is ill with depression, the family has to sell their home, and her mother has to find some kind of job to support them. The new school and neighborhood are a comedown from the family's previous existence; then, the father leaves home and they take in a boarder to help pay the bills. The dilemma turns to something bad Victory...
