2 Visitor Industry Charity Walk

Often referred to as the "5K Buffet," this may be the only event where participants feast on fabulous food from vendors along the route. Event finishes with tons of prizes, delicious desserts, and a beer and wine garden. Starts at 5:30 p.m. Located at the west end of the Delaney Park Strip. 3 Alaska Zoo Kids' Fun Run

Children ages three to 10 sprint past lynx, tigers and bears on an easy course that weaves through the Alaska Zoo's 25 wooded acres--varying in length from the 25K Fox Trot to the 1K Caribou Cruise. Register online by visiting www.alaskazoo.org. There is a $10 entry fee that includes free admission per family. 3 Jerry Santos and Lei of Friends, In Concert

As a founding member and lead singer of the group Olomana, Jerry Santos helped to create a unique and easily recognizable musical style, blending Hawaiian music with contemporary rhythms. Olomana's unique sound is deeply rooted in the land, people and culture of Hawaii. Joining Santos is top Hawaiian singer Hoku Zuttermeiste, who describes his style as being "Hawaiian, but with a more contemporary flair." Also featuring Hula Dancer Nalani Badua Fernandes, and Local Hula Group Ke Kia-i A O Hula-Alaska as well as Slack Key Artist Barry Kimokeo. Presented by Alaska-Hawaii Cultural Foundation. Blending top-notch skill, blinding energy and breakneck speed, these performers from the remote mountains of Japan capture the earthy tones of long ago. 10 Salmon Run

This family fun 2K, 5K, 10K run is a fundraiser for Anchorage South Rotary's charitable giving and scholarship committees. Course follows the Coastal Trail. 10 Amblin' for Alzheimer's Walk

A day filled with fun, food and festivities, followed by a silent auction of goods and services. Begins at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on the University of Alaska Anchorage Campus and goes to Goose Lake and back. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The trail will accommodate wheelchair use.
