Judiciary Commemorates National Judicial Outreach Week in Hawaii

On March 8, Hawaii Intermediate Court of Appeals Associate Judge Lisa Ginoza met with Holomua School sixth grade students who visited the Hawaii Supreme Court Building during National Judicial Outreach Week. She shared insights on how the courts apply the rule of law in maintaining open and transparent government, ensuring fairness in our system of justice, and protecting the fundamental legal rights of all citizens.

Chief Justice Appoints Kevin T. Morikone as Oahu District Court Judge

On March 7, Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald appointed Kevin T. Morikone to the District Court of the First Circuit.

Morikone served as a per diem District Family Court judge since October 2015 and as a Court Annexed Arbitration Program arbitrator. Prior to becoming a partner in Hosoda & Morikone, LLC, he was an associate attorney at the firm formerly known as Lyle S. Hosoda & Associates, LLC, and a law clerk to the Honorable Eden Elizabeth Hifo

Apo Appointed as Per Diem Judge

Jan K. Apo was recently appointed as per diem judge of the District Court of the Second Circuit. Apo's term is from March 2018 to March 2022.

First Circuit District Family Court Accepting Applications for Per Diem Judges

The District Family Court of the First Circuit is accepting applications from attorneys interested in serving as Per Diem Family Court Judge. Application forms are available online at http://www.courts.state.hi.us under General Information > Job Opportunities. Applications must be submitted by June 29, 2018.
