Masonoff v. Dubois, 336 F.Supp.2d 54 (D.Mass. 2004). State inmates filed a class action under [section] 1983 alleging that conditions of their confinement violated their Eighth Amendment rights. The district court granted summary judgment for the defendants in part, and denied it in part. The court held that the facility's superintendent and administrator were not entitled to qualified immunity because a prisoner's right to adequate and hygienic means to dispose of his bodily wastes was clearly established in 1991.
