Martin University is a community within the community with a distinct mission: to serve adult-age, low-income and minority students. Through the leadership of its founding president, Rev. Fr. Boniface Hardin, Martin University has made it possible for persons who never thought they would go to college to earn one or more degrees. As a result, graduates have obtained better jobs, built their self-esteem, and served as role models for family, friends and their community.

From its inception, Martin University has become an asset to Indianapolis and the local economy, and therefore an important community investment.
