Information pertaining to such marketing issues as customer service, cross-selling and referrals, and building customer relationships and customer confidence has been added to the updated version of the popular "Principles of Banking" course offered by the American Institute of Banking (AIB).

The course, taken by thousands of bankers each year, can be taken in a classroom, through correspondence study or online. The course was updated this fall.

Other issues that were added to the course include Check 21, bank obligations with respect to deterring financial crimes and business ethics.
