Marcy Shepardson, CPA has been selected to receive the 2006 CalCPA accounting doctoral scholarship. The scholarship is a combined effort of the CalCPA Accounting Education Committee and the California CPA Education Foundation to help boost the ranks of accounting doctorates teaching in California colleges and universities.

San Diego-based Shepardson has worked for Arthur Andersen and Deloitte & Touche as a senior manager and audit manager, respectively, and at Science Applications International Corporation as a senior financial reporting consultant. She received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Michigan State University and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin in August for her doctorate.
