3 35th Annual Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race

More than 1,000 dogs will line up along Fourth Avenue in Anchorage. The Saturday ceremonial start, which begins in Anchorage and ends in Eagle River, offers onlookers an opportunity to experience history as they get a closeup view of the teams preparing for the 1,049-mile journey to Nome. 3 20th Annual ACVB Torchlight Ski Parade

A fun, free, cross-country ski event for all ages and skill levels. Skiers are met at parade end with hot drinks, warming tents, ice skating, door prizes and a ride back to the start. 5-7 International Smoked Seafood Conference

The conference will address the need for information based on the value and popularity of smoked products. The goal of the conference is to help the smoked seafood industry in the following ways: compete in changing markets, meet regulatory requirements, develop successful products and learn about requirements and packaging innovations.
