An avid lover of the outdoors is Malcolm Persen, pictured on the right, in the green shirt. The photo was taken at the completion of a trans-Grand Canyon hike (27 miles) last year, which he did in sandals. He forgot his boots, he says, and wasn't going to miss the hike--something he's done for the past five years, although this was his first (and last) time in sandals. Needless to say, following the trek, his feet were sore!

Little, Consultant; 1999-2003, Avnet Inc., Group Financial Officer; 2004-present, Radyne Corp., VP and CFO.

Leisure Pursuits: I enjoy being outdoors, and particularly skiing, hiking and traveling. I have visited all 50 states and over 50 countries--primarily for business, and we also enjoy family travel. In June, the family traveled to Italy, Greece and Croatia.

Time Management: Probably not one of my core competencies!

Stress Management: I'm a high-energy person and counter stress by skiing, hiking and more.

Favorite or recently-read book: I don't read enough books (a professor I had said you should read 10 books a year); I do read too many periodicals. My favorite read is Outside Magazine.

What's the best advice you've received? My grandfather told me as I went off to college that in life "you will want everything to be just so, but nothing will be just so ..."
