More organizations are beginning to see the light about e-mail archiving. Recent research conducted by Info-Tech Research Group found that 58% of the organizations questioned already had some type of e-mail archiving solution in place. Another 27% said they planned to get their e-mail archiving organized within the following 18 months. This trend is most evident in organizations in compliance-based industries.

E-mail archiving also is expanding to encompass social media conversations. As the use of social channels for external communications continues to increase, the need for affordable storage of larger archives will, too.
