* Two National Defense staff members were bestowed awards for defense journalism excellence.
During the 2019 Defence Media Awards dinner--which was held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C, in October--Editor in Chief Stew Magnuson and Managing Editor Jon Harper were selected as winners in the best technology and best naval systems submission categories, respectively.
Magnuson was recognized for his story, "Defense Community Slow to Grasp Potential of Quantum-Based Tech."
Harper was selected for his article, "Incoming: Can Aircraft Carriers Survive Hypersonic Weapons?"
Harper was also nominated for best land systems submission. Senior Editor Yasmin Tadjdeh was nominated for best breaking news story, Staff Writer...
