For many businesses throughout Utah, 2010 was not a blissful year. The past year included a collage of stressful events, ranging from health care reform battles, to national and local election overhauls, to the global economic crisis. Though most, if not all, companies have been negatively impacted one way or another, we at Utah Business believe there's much to look forward to in 2011.

We're excited to begin our first issue of the year by recognizing 100 of the state's most influential people--business, government and nonprofit leaders who have played an integral role in shaping Utah into the great state it is today. These individuals haven't stopped at leading their organizations to success they have built their industries, worked as board members and served the community at large. Spanning industries ranging from construction, to technology, to education and more, their greater influence is one that we have all benefited from. We hope you'll agree that these leaders are worthy of this recognition, not only for their past contributions to Utah, but because of their continued commitment to build a better state for generations to come.

We at Utah Business are also excited to announce our 25th anniversary. Since 1986, Utah Business has been a leader in providing the state's executives with vital business news.
