The first book written and illustrated by Windsor's Mark Ludy, "The Farmer" came out in 1999. In the seven years since, he's had a hand in four more books, illustrating two and writing and illustrating the other two; he's also revved up a speaking career, and won plenty of awards and accolades. For the first four books, Ludy started by drawing with a black Bic pen, then scanning his art and coloring it digitally. On his most recent title, the wordless "The Flower Man," the process was entirely on the computer, beginning with a digital drawing tablet.
