Lockheed Martin Divisions win NDIA Engineering Awards.

Lockheed Martin won two of five awards given annually by the Defense Department and the National Defense Industrial Association for excellence in systems engineering. Lockheed Martin Systems Integration, Owego, N.Y., and Lockheed Martin Mission and Combat Support Solutions, Valley Forge, Pa., each received the NDIA's Top 5 DoD Program Award for 2006, which were presented at the 10th Annual Systems Engineering Conference in San Diego. The U.S Air Force was the co-recipient for both programs.

Owego received its award for the A-10 Precision Engagement program. The team modified the close-air-support fighter jet from an analog to a digital aircraft with precision weapons capability.
