Local business uses lasers to bring greeting cards to life.

Provo -- On a busy street in Hong Kong a year ago, street vendors showed the seven founders of CARDS2LIFE a product they had never seen before in the United States: intricately designed and handcrafted pop-up cards that sprang to life once opened. Fascinated by the card's design, the founders purchased a handful and brought the cards back to their hometown of Provo, determined to put an American spin on them.

"This type of product wasn't what we were looking for," says Cards2Life PR director Stephen Sainsbury. "However, it really stood out to us and allowed for us to get creative with the technology."

Today, Cards2Life produces a wide variety of specialty pop-up cards for any occasion. Each card is designed by an in-house design team, is laser cut in Southeast Asia, and hand assembled. Designs are available in many categories, from birthdays to thank you cards and everything in between--in local Utah flavor, they even have a pop-up Salt Lake LDS Temple. The cards are also available in a variety of color combinations from the 40-color paper palette.
