The first two parts of this text focused on anatomical and clinical issues of the spine as
well as their legal implications. Part 3 examines issues important to understand in the
litigation of spine cases. Chapter 14 covers the critical area of medical records and how
they are useful for evaluation of a spine injury. Chapter 15 discusses the independent
medical evaluation (IME), particularly as related to an orthopedic assessment. Chapter
16 examines the topic of the physician and chiropractor as an expert witness.
