This view of Union station is about to change. Plans call for the 119-year-old building to become a multi-modal transportation hub surrounded by further development. According to Marilee Utter, director of transit-oriented development for the Regional Transportation District, light rail and buses from the 16th Street Mall will use the station. Less certain plans are' under way to take the station to a new level by going underground to gain more space for bus terminals and even a train from Denver International Airport.
