Limited use of corporate websites for disclosure.

A study conducted by the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) found that while public companies use a wide variety of communications channels to disseminate information (more than 15), the vast majority are not using their website as the exclusive distribution method and have no immediate plans to do so.

Among the survey findings:

* Eighty-eight percent of respondents said their companies have no immediate plans to move toward exclusive use of their corporate website for material information disclosure; just 8 percent have used the corporate website as the only channel.
