A rare Indian artifact from Lewis and Clark's fabled exploration of the American West turned up recently, after disappearing for more than a century. The bearclaw necklace, probably given to Meriwether Lewis and William Clark by an Indian chief during a diplomatic exchange, was last seen shortly after Harvard University's Peabody Museum first catalogued it in 1899.
