CANCER SCREENING IN MAINE
Editor:
There's a mistake in the Statestats report on insurance coverage for cancer screening in your October/November '99 issue of State Legislatures.
As the author of Maine's Prostate Cancer Screening Act, which passed in 1998, I can assure you that coverage for the tests used to screen for prostate cancer are mandated if recommended by a physician. You may now remove the asterisk.
