FOR MANY OF YOU, school is almost out for the summer, and so for the Upfront staff here in New York, this will be our last issue until September.

WE'LL SPEND THE SUMMER preparing for what's sure to be a momentous year. The 2008 election is off to an early start, and we'll be covering the candidates and explaining the process, from primaries to inauguration, along with the roles that polls, advertising, and campaign contributions play in our elections. And in a special series, we'll look at the key issues in the campaign, and their implications for the future.

IN EVERY ISSUE OF UPFRONT, we'll continue to bring current events into your classroom, connecting what's going on in the world to your curriculums--and to the lives of your students.
