LETTER FROM THE CHAIR

After a two-year stint as the Vice Chair of the IP Law Section, I am taking on the Chair's reigns from Heather Antoine's capable hands.

Last year, as California went into lockdown, the California Lawyers Association (CLA) aptly anticipated that the unpredictability of the pandemic and its related restrictions would disrupt the operations of the sections. In response, several sections, including the IP Law Section, decided to freeze and extend the terms of their officer positions for a year. Adapting and pivoting in response to ever-changing guidelines on pandemic restrictions became the norm. For the IP section, all in-person events in 2020 were postponed indefinitely, and later, canceled altogether, with the hope that 2021 would be different.
