Let's Do Business Differently.

This is the year of the entrepreneur, or so it seems. Over and over again we witness the tremendous impact entrepreneurs have on our state, and our country. And never has that been more apparent than at EY's annual Entrepreneur Of The Year event.

I attended the gala with my husband where we thought we might enjoy a night out at The Grand America. But we were blown away by the many talented men and women we came to support. I even had the opportunity to present the tech award! Opening up that envelope felt like my very own Oscar moment.

Later that night my husband and I went home and sat on our front porch for a nightcap. We have this ritual where, no matter what we are coming home from, we debrief from it by telling one another our "takeaways." This time we both had the same one: that business can be a force for good ... if handled with proper care.

One business that does just that is The Other Side Academy, the company that won the "Social Entrepreneur" category. When Joseph Grenny, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board, got up to accept the award he addressed the audience with an axiom.
