"A League of Their Own" proved to be a sleeper hit among the overblown action epics during the summer of 1992. The comedy about a women's baseball team in the early 1940s was rooted in fact, as the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League helped fill the gap left when their male counterparts went off to fight World War II. This documentary tells the story of those female athletes through vintage newsreel footage and interviews conducted at a reunion held almost four decades after the AAGPBL folded in 1954.
