Laser Shot wins Small Business Success Story Award.

The first annual National Defense Industrial Association Small Business Success Story Award was presented to Laser Shot Inc. at the 7th National Small Business Conference in Huntsville, Ala.

NDIA encouraged small businesses to share their success stories through a new program sponsored by the Small Business Division. The award was designed to enlighten the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security, Congress and NDIA industry partners on the outstanding accomplishments of successful small businesses.

Participating small businesses were required to include a statement on how they have directly made an impact on war fighters. All applications were submitted online and then held to a comprehensive blind review.

Laser Shot's naval boat gunnery trainer beat out several other applicants.

Gregg Owens, vice president of the company, said, "Laser Shot built these training systems to directly address a critical need in gunnery training of the U.S. Navy small boat forces."

The system lets boat crews conduct mission and crew task training in a fully immersive and reactive 360-degree virtual environment. The trainer enables crews to use a myriad of systems such as radar, ship-to-shore and on-board position-to-position communications.
