Ashe America is officially launching its new, patented glueless four-spindle turret rewind slitter, the Opal. Driven via an all-AC servo motor system, the turret allows for no tooling set up operation between slit and core size changes. Digital presses, plate mounters, flexo plate materials and software designed for tag and label printers are being displayed. Digital label presses include Konica Minolta's new C70RLC label press designed to fill the gap between entry-level and higher-end label presses. A&V is also displaying AV Flexologic's Semi-Automatic Mounting Machine (SAMM 1100). Printing plate materials from industry leaders including Flint Group and Toyobo are also on display, along with color management and proofing software.

This self-contained booklet printing system "represents the next step" in audit-proof production and verification of booklet labels for clinical trials. Using high-quality UV-resistant inks, the Digiline Booklet can print on fully and partially transparent label stocks as well as booklets up to 4 mm thick that cannot be processed with thermal transfer technology.

Axicon is showing its brand new verifier for 2D and linear bar codes, the Axicon 15000. This verifier features a state-of-the-art array imaging camera and has a field of view of 2' x 1.25". Unique features of the lightweight 15000 include the fact that the device is powered solely through the USB port and that OCR text can be validated in association with linear bar codes such UPC's. In addition, the company's entire range of bar code quality verifiers are on display.
