I am not a sports fan. Therefore, I confess that I was disappointed when you gave a monthly sports-related column to Dave Zirin. Why waste that page on sports, I wondered, instead of the usual progressive commentary on politics and social justice issues for which I read this magazine?
But I gave him a chance, and I'm so glad I did. Zirin has found a way to shed light on important progressive issues that just happen to relate to the sports industry. And his writing style is so engaging...
